My name is Jason Croatto. I’m a designer living in Brooklyn New York. I have a BFA in Film and Animation from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and currently work as a UI/Visual Designer for Google’s Mobile Ads group (formerly AdMob).
I began my career in Hollywood, where I worked at a small production company creating motion graphics, shooting and editing spots for clients like Sony, Universal, NBC, Fine Living, MTV, HGTV, and many others. I later worked for Inside Edition in New York, where I acted as a broadcast designer in their fast paced newsroom, creating day-of-air graphics for daily broadcasts, and preparing segment introductions. My first tech company position was at a Los Angeles-area startup, where I designed information features for a network of out-of-home TV channels displayed in businesses like Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Tully’s, Robeks, Jack-in-the-Box, and Jiffy Lube. As the markets changed, I was fortunate enough to join the team at AdMob in San Mateo, CA, where I worked with an extraordinary group of product managers and engineers and embarked on my adventures in mobile design and monetization. I was with AdMob up to and through the company’s acquisition by Google, and I have continued with them, working to improve the mobile ads field for advertisers, publishers, and mobile users.
I feel fortunate to have a job that parallels my personal interests in design and technology, and gives me the opportunity to focus on the areas in which they now mix. Whether it’s Business to Business (B2B) or consumer facing products I continually strive to bring a degree of ingenuity and passion to all of the projects and products with which I am involved.
In my personal time I am either usually hanging with my wife, exploring New York, visiting new cities and countries, or enjoying the company of the other people I am close with (usually with a camera in hand).
